When I attempt to send an email notification test message, I get the following attached error message (BOM Error 1).
Attachment 2 is how I have the mail tab configured.
To the best of my knowledge I have configured smtp.1and1.com correctly and those settings work with my email reader.
Additionally, 1and1/ionos is a German ISP and I use server string ebay.com.ini.
Please excuse my English only post. Hopefully you will use Google Translate to read the post in German as I do to read the Forum in English.

554 Invalid DNS PTR resource record
Problem:
There is no domain name assigned to the IP address of the email server you are using in the Domain Name Service (DNS).
Solution:
Add the missing DNS entry.
554 Bad DNS PTR resource record
Problem:
Email from your email server has been rejected because the PTR resource record (PTR-RR) of your IP address does not comply with IONOS policy.
Solution:
Switch from a dynamically assigned IP address to a fixed IP address.
Verify that the PTR-RR is the default generic entry of your provider. Assign your email server its own full domain name (FQDN).
554 IP address is blacklisted
Problem:
A delivery of your email was rejected due to a DNSBL entry of your IP.
Solution;
Contact IONOS to have an incorrect entry checked.
554 Reject due to policy restrictions
Problem:
The email was rejected as it violates IONOS policy. The sending server is mostly sending spam messages.
Solution:
Contact us IONOS to have the facts of the case examined.
554 Transaction failed, reject due to policy restrictions
Problem:
The email was rejected by the IONOS SMTP server because the standards defined in RFC 5321 and RFC 5322 were not adhered to.
Solution:
The email client must meet the following criteria:
The header lines of the email must contain exactly one valid "Date" line according to RFC 2822.
The following header lines may only exist once: From, Sender, To, CC, Subject
The header lines mentioned must be syntactically correct
Note: The To and CC lines can contain multiple recipients.
In accordance with the recommendations from RFC7103, incorrect messages are not automatically corrected by IONOS, otherwise DKIM signatures become invalid. For more information about DKIM signatures, see the IONOS article Configuring DMARC Records for a Domain.

Robert,
Thank you for your reply, great product and English. Prior to posting on the forum, I visited the IONOS site and read the error codes you posted and as with your posting I was unable to see how to resolve the problem. I have no control over what BOM sends. When I test the connection without sending a test message I get a successful connection. See attachment.
I don't understand how any of the parameters I used can be changed to correct the error. As an aside, this featured worked as configured in previous BOM versions, but I am unable to remember which ones.
Am I using the wrong ISP? What are other users using?

Bob,
you should change the receiver-adress to any.name@lemker.com.
Then the Mail has not to be forwarded to any other sever.
It will also be possible, to use port 25 and to disable SMTP-Auth.

Neither suggestion had any effect on the issue. BOM has saved me $100s and I will continue to enjoy using the it. I will also make no further posted regarding this issue as the email notification function is not material to my use of BOM and it was just a nagging issue that I wanted to resolve.
Thank you for your responses and a great product.
